ScrapeUnblocker vs. Scrapingdog: Pricing, Billing and Features Compared (2026)
ScrapeUnblocker and Scrapingdog’s Web Scraping API solve the same problem: you send a URL to an API, and it returns the page, with proxies and JavaScript rendering handled for you. Where they differ most is in how they charge. Scrapingdog sells monthly pools of credits, and a Web Scraping API request costs between 1 and 25 credits in its published cost table, depending on the options it uses. ScrapeUnblocker charges one credit per request, with browser rendering always on.
A note before we start: we make ScrapeUnblocker, so we are not a neutral party. To keep this comparison fair and checkable, every Scrapingdog figure below comes from Scrapingdog’s own public pricing page and documentation, as we viewed them on 24 September 2026 (the free-plan credits were rechecked on 26 September 2026). Every ScrapeUnblocker figure comes from our pricing page and documentation. Where we do not know something, we say so. Prices and features change, so please check both sites before you decide.
Scrapingdog also sells dedicated APIs (Google, Amazon, YouTube and more) on the same credits. We compare ScrapeUnblocker with its Web Scraping API, the product closest to ours, and mention the dedicated APIs only where they overlap with ours.

How Scrapingdog pricing works
Scrapingdog’s pricing page lists a Free plan and 27 paid monthly plans. These are the plans up to $1,000 per month:
| Plan | Price per month | Credits | Concurrency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 100 | 1 |
| Lite | $40 | 200,000 | 5 |
| Standard | $90 | 1,000,000 | 50 |
| Pro | $200 | 3,000,000 | 100 |
| Premium | $350 | 6,000,000 | 150 |
| Business | $500 | 9,000,000 | 200 |
| Business Plus | $1,000 | 19,000,000 | 250 |
Larger plans continue up to Nova Pro at $30,000 per month, with 1,100,000,000 credits and 2,200 concurrent requests, and custom plans are available on request. The page says every plan unlocks every API.
Annual billing is “priced at ten months for twelve”. From the Standard plan upward, unused credits carry over to the next billing cycle; Scrapingdog’s terms of service add that they expire at the end of the billing period if you cancel or downgrade. If you run out mid-cycle, its home page FAQ describes one-time credits that are valid until the current cycle ends.
Credits are the detail that matters most. The pricing page publishes these costs for the Web Scraping API:
| Configuration | Credits per request |
|---|---|
| Rotating proxy, no JavaScript rendering | 1 |
| JavaScript rendering | 5 |
| Premium proxy | 10 |
| With country (geotargeting) | 10 |
| JavaScript rendering + premium proxy | 25 |
| AI Parser | 10 (listed as “+10” in the documentation’s credit table) |
Scrapingdog’s JavaScript rendering page says rendering uses headless Chrome, “is enabled by default and costs 5 credits per request (25 with premium proxies)”, and that dynamic=false reduces the cost to 1 credit. Its premium residential proxies (premium=true) use US proxies by default and support geotargeting. The documentation also describes a Stealth Mode (stealth_mode=true) for Cloudflare and similar bot protection, at 10 credits per request.
How ScrapeUnblocker pricing works
ScrapeUnblocker has a pay-as-you-go option and monthly plans. Our pricing page states that one request always equals one credit.
| Plan | Price | Requests included | Effective price per 1,000 | Additional usage per 1,000 | Rate limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pay as you go | €1.00 per 1,000 requests | - | €1.00 | - | 2 requests/second |
| Starter | €29 per month | 34,000 | about €0.85 | €0.95 | 5 requests/second |
| Pro | €99 per month | 132,000 | about €0.75 | €0.85 | 10 requests/second |
| Business | €299 per month | 440,000 | about €0.68 | €0.75 | Up to 400 requests/second |
| Scale | €599 per month | 966,000 | about €0.62 | €0.68 | Up to 400 requests/second |
| Ultimate | €1,000 per month | 1,818,000 | about €0.55 | €0.60 | Up to 400 requests/second |
There is also a custom Enterprise option. Pay as you go has no monthly commitment. Our plan cards list JavaScript rendering, CAPTCHA bypass and a real browser, and none of these is charged separately: a rendered page costs the same one credit as any other request.
What each plan buys, in requests
Because Scrapingdog’s credit cost varies, the number of requests a plan covers depends on the configuration your sites need. These are the request counts its pricing page publishes, assuming every request in the month uses the same configuration:
| Scrapingdog plan | Rotating proxy (1 credit) | JavaScript rendering (5) | Premium proxy or country (10) | JavaScript + premium proxy (25) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite, $40 | 200,000 | 40,000 | 20,000 | 8,000 |
| Standard, $90 | 1,000,000 | 200,000 | 100,000 | 40,000 |
| Pro, $200 | 3,000,000 | 600,000 | 300,000 | 120,000 |
| Business Plus, $1,000 | 19,000,000 | 3,800,000 | 1,900,000 | 760,000 |
On ScrapeUnblocker, the number is fixed per plan whatever the site: 34,000 requests on Starter, 132,000 on Pro, 1,818,000 on Ultimate, and so on.
Two price points side by side
The two services price in different currencies: Scrapingdog in US dollars and ScrapeUnblocker in euros. We have not converted between them, because exchange rates move. Keep that in mind when you read these tables.
Around 90 to 99 per month:
| Plan and configuration | Requests per month | Price per 1,000 requests |
|---|---|---|
| ScrapeUnblocker Pro (€99) | 132,000 | about €0.75 |
| Scrapingdog Standard ($90), rotating proxy | 1,000,000 | $0.09 |
| Scrapingdog Standard ($90), JavaScript rendering | 200,000 | $0.45 |
| Scrapingdog Standard ($90), premium proxy or country | 100,000 | $0.90 |
| Scrapingdog Standard ($90), JavaScript + premium proxy | 40,000 | $2.25 |
Around 1,000 per month:
| Plan and configuration | Requests per month | Price per 1,000 requests |
|---|---|---|
| ScrapeUnblocker Ultimate (€1,000) | 1,818,000 | about €0.55 |
| Scrapingdog Business Plus ($1,000), rotating proxy | 19,000,000 | about $0.053 |
| Scrapingdog Business Plus ($1,000), JavaScript rendering | 3,800,000 | about $0.26 |
| Scrapingdog Business Plus ($1,000), premium proxy or country | 1,900,000 | about $0.53 |
| Scrapingdog Business Plus ($1,000), JavaScript + premium proxy | 760,000 | about $1.32 |
How to read these numbers
Here is the honest reading. If your target sites work on Scrapingdog’s rotating proxy, with or without JavaScript rendering, its plans cover more requests for a similar nominal monthly amount than ours do. With premium proxies or country targeting at 10 credits, the request counts are closer to ours. If your targets need premium proxies together with JavaScript rendering, each request draws 25 credits: at the listed prices, $5.00 per 1,000 requests on Lite, about $1.32 on Business Plus and about $0.68 on Nova Pro, the largest plan, against €0.55 to €1.00 per 1,000 on ScrapeUnblocker.
Which configuration your sites need on Scrapingdog decides most of the price difference, and only a test on your own URLs will show it. There is a simple way to run one at the end of this article.
What you pay for when a request fails
Both services say they do not charge for failed requests. Here is what each one’s published pages say.
Scrapingdog. Its pricing page FAQ says: “Failed, blocked and timed-out requests are automatically credited back to your balance. You only ever pay for data you successfully receive.” Its documentation lists the status codes the API returns, including 404, 410 and 429, but in the pages we checked we did not find which of them use credits.
ScrapeUnblocker. Per our errors documentation, a delivered page (200) is billed. When the target itself answers 404 or 410, or its origin returns its own 5xx error page, we return a 200 with an X-Origin-Status header carrying the target’s status, and that is billed too. A domain that does not exist (400 Hostname cannot be resolved) is billed, and so is a browser steps action that fails after the page has rendered (422 step_failed). A 403 (blocked by the target’s bot protection on every bypass path we have), timeouts, 523 Origin unreachable, 429 rate limit, 402 out of quota and all errors on our side are not billed.
| Outcome | ScrapeUnblocker | Scrapingdog |
|---|---|---|
| Page delivered | Billed | Billed |
| Blocked by the target’s bot protection | Not billed (403) | Not charged (credited back) |
| Timeout | Not billed | Not charged (credited back) |
| Target answers 404 or 410 | Billed (200 with X-Origin-Status) | Not stated in the pages we checked |
| Domain does not exist | Billed (400) | Not stated in the pages we checked |
| Rate or concurrency limit exceeded | Not billed (429) | Returns 429; billing not stated |
| Out of quota or credits | Not billed (402) | Over-limit response |
One caveat applies to both. Each service decides for itself whether a response counts as a success. If a challenge page comes back looking like a normal page, whether it is caught depends on that service’s own checks. We have not tested how Scrapingdog handles this.
Features compared
| Feature | ScrapeUnblocker | Scrapingdog |
|---|---|---|
| JavaScript rendering | Always on, in a real browser | Headless Chrome, 5 credits per request; dynamic=false for 1 credit |
| Geotargeting | proxy_country, with a published list of supported countries | country, with ISO 3166-1 country codes, 10 credits per request |
| Output | HTML, or structured JSON with parsed_data=true | HTML by default; formats for links, Markdown, a summary or images; AI extraction (ai_query, ai_extract_rules) |
| Page interaction (click, type, scroll) | steps in the same request, up to about 10 actions, plus list_elements to discover selectors | A wait parameter of up to 35,000 milliseconds; we did not find click, type or scroll actions in its documented parameters |
| Screenshots | Not offered | Screenshot API, 5 credits per successful request |
| Custom request headers | Not offered | custom_headers=true, no additional cost |
| Asynchronous requests | Not offered | Webhook Integration, which posts scraped content to your endpoint |
| Maximum request time | 60 seconds (90 seconds with steps) | Requests time out after 60 seconds |
| Google search | /serpApi endpoint returning organic results, ads and Google’s AI overview as JSON | Google Search API (5 credits, 10 with advanced or mobile search), plus separate Google APIs |
| Site-specific scrapers | Plugin endpoints that return JSON, for example Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Target, Etsy, Indeed, TikTok, Booking.com, Airbnb and Skyscanner | Dedicated APIs, for example Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Flipkart, YouTube, X, TikTok, Yelp, Indeed, Zillow and ChatGPT |
| Official client libraries | Python, Node.js, Ruby and PHP | Node.js and Python SDKs |
| Integrations | MCP server (Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP clients), Claude Code plugin, Scrapy middleware, n8n node, Apify actors | MCP server (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP clients), n8n node, Google Sheets add-on |
A note on rate limits. Scrapingdog limits concurrent requests (1 on Free, 5 on Lite, 50 on Standard, up to 2,200 on Nova Pro); ScrapeUnblocker limits requests per second. The units differ, so the numbers cannot be compared directly: the throughput a concurrency limit gives you depends on how long each request takes. If throughput matters, measure it on your own targets.
When Scrapingdog may be the better fit
- Most of your targets work on its rotating proxy, with or without JavaScript rendering, where a request costs 1 or 5 credits.
- You need very high volume or concurrency: its listed plans go up to 1.1 billion credits a month and 2,200 concurrent requests.
- You need screenshots, Markdown output, custom request headers or delivery to a webhook.
- Its billing options suit you: unused credits carry over from the Standard plan upward, and annual billing is priced at ten months for twelve.
- You only need a very small volume: its pricing page lists a Free plan at “$0 forever”, with 100 credits.
- You want one of its dedicated APIs, for example for Google Maps, YouTube or Zillow, or its Google Sheets add-on.
- You already have a working Scrapingdog integration that meets your needs.
When ScrapeUnblocker may be the better fit
- Your targets need premium proxies with JavaScript rendering, or country targeting, and you want the same price per request whatever the site and options.
- You want to predict your monthly bill from request volume alone, without tracking credit multipliers.
- You want pay-as-you-go with no monthly commitment. We did not find a pay-as-you-go option on Scrapingdog’s pricing page.
- You need to click, type or scroll on a page inside the same request, at the same one-credit price.
- You work in Ruby or PHP and want an official client library.
- You prefer to be billed in euros.
What this comparison does not tell you
- Success rates. We have not tested Scrapingdog and ScrapeUnblocker on the same sites, so we make no claim about which one gets through more often. Scrapingdog’s pricing page states a success-rate figure, and we have published a benchmark of our own API; neither is a head-to-head test.
- Which Scrapingdog configuration your sites need. This drives most of the price difference, and only a test on your own URLs can answer it.
- Speed. Response times depend on the site, the configuration and the load. We have not measured Scrapingdog’s.
- How credit costs combine. We did not find what a request costs for combinations outside the published table, for example country targeting with JavaScript rendering, or Stealth Mode with other options.
- Details Scrapingdog’s pages describe differently. Its JavaScript rendering page says rendering is on by default, while other pages describe turning it on with
dynamic=true. The pricing page lists the Free plan as “$0 forever” with 100 credits, the documentation says the free plan includes “200 requests / month”, and the home page shows “30-day free trial” next to “100 credits free”. Check both points on your own account. - Billing for a target’s 404 or 410. Not stated in the pages we checked.
- Custom pricing. Both companies offer custom plans; we do not know Scrapingdog’s terms beyond its public pricing page.
- Anything that changed after 24 September 2026. Both pricing pages can change at any time.
How to decide in an afternoon
- Pick about 20 URLs from your real workload. That is what Scrapingdog’s 100 free credits cover at 5 credits per request (at 25 credits, for premium proxies with rendering, they cover 4).
- Run them through Scrapingdog’s free credits. Its Account API returns your remaining credits, so you can see how many credits your requests used.
- Run the same URLs through ScrapeUnblocker’s 500 free requests.
- For each service, count the pages you actually received (check the content, not only the status code), then divide the monthly price you would pay by the number of good pages you would get.
The service with the lower cost per good page on your own URLs is the cheaper one for you. You can start with our 500 free requests on the pricing page.
