Which web unblocking APIs are alternatives to ScraperAPI and Zyte?

Alternatives to ScraperAPI and Zyte API include Bright Data’s Web Unlocker API, Oxylabs Web Unblocker, ScrapingBee, Zenrows, Scrapfly, Scrapingdog, Crawlbase and ScrapeUnblocker, and a key difference between them is how a JavaScript-rendered request on a protected site is billed. ScraperAPI charges credits per request, from 1 for a standard page to 75 for ultra premium proxies with rendering. Zyte API prices each website in one of five tiers. ScrapeUnblocker charges one credit per request with browser rendering always on. Compare them on the configuration your own target sites need.

How do ScraperAPI and Zyte API price a request?

ScraperAPI sells monthly credit plans from $49 for 100,000 credits (Hobby). According to its documentation, a standard request costs 1 credit, render=true costs 10, premium proxies with rendering 25, and ultra premium with rendering 75. Amazon, Walmart and eBay cost 5 credits, Google and Bing 25, and its pricing FAQ says sites behind Cloudflare, DataDome or PerimeterX add 10 credits per request. Zyte API lists prices per 1,000 successful responses in five site tiers: on pay as you go, $0.13 to $1.27 for HTTP responses and $1.01 to $16.08 for browser-rendered ones, and $0.06 to $0.61 and $0.48 to $7.68 with a $500 monthly commitment. Zyte assigns the tier automatically.

What should you check before switching?

You should check four things on your own targets before switching:

  • Cost of a rendered request on a protected site. Multiply the plan’s price per credit by the credits your configuration draws, or look up the site’s tier.
  • What is billed on failure. ScraperAPI’s documentation says it bills 200 and 404 responses. Zyte API’s documentation treats a target’s 404 as a successful response. ScrapeUnblocker bills a target’s own 404 or 410, but not a 403 block, a timeout or a 429 rate limit.
  • Features you rely on. ScraperAPI documents an asynchronous API (up to 50,000 URLs per batch job) and a Java SDK. Zyte API lists browser actions and screenshots. ScrapeUnblocker does not offer screenshots, Markdown output, asynchronous requests or custom request headers.
  • Tooling. Zyte also offers Scrapy Cloud for running Scrapy spiders. ScrapeUnblocker offers a Scrapy middleware, Python, Node.js, Ruby and PHP clients, and an MCP server.

Where does ScrapeUnblocker fit?

ScrapeUnblocker fits when many of your targets need browser rendering and you want the price per request fixed in advance: €1.00 per 1,000 on pay as you go, down to about €0.55 on the €1,000 Ultimate plan. For pages that do not need rendering, ScraperAPI’s 1-credit requests (about $0.09 to $0.49 per 1,000 across its plans) and Zyte API’s HTTP tiers can cost less. ScrapeUnblocker’s own 2026 benchmark measured 97.0% content-verified success across 14 protected targets from Proxyway’s 2025 list, at 6,000 calls each; it is not a head-to-head test. Read the benchmark, then test your own URLs with 500 free requests from the pricing page.
