How do the main web unblocking APIs compare on price per 1000 successful requests?
On plans priced from $90 to $149 a month, credit-based web unblocking APIs list about $0.09 to $0.20 per 1,000 plain requests, about $0.45 to $1.49 per 1,000 JavaScript-rendered requests, and about $2.25 to $11.18 per 1,000 with premium, residential or stealth proxies. ScrapeUnblocker charges about €0.75 per 1,000 on its €99 Pro plan and Bright Data’s Web Unlocker API $1.50 per 1,000 on pay as you go, whatever the configuration. Zyte API prices each site in one of five tiers. Which one costs least for you depends on the configuration your target sites need.
What does each API charge per 1,000 requests?
Each figure is the provider’s own list price divided by the requests a plan covers at that configuration, in its own currency, without conversion. How should you read these numbers?
Read the table by column, not by provider name. For plain pages, each credit API lists a lower figure than ScrapeUnblocker’s €0.75 as long as one euro costs more than $0.27. For JavaScript rendering on standard proxies, Scrapingdog, ScrapingBee and Scrapfly list lower figures as long as one euro costs more than $0.80. With premium, residential or stealth proxies, ScrapeUnblocker’s €0.75 is lower than each credit-API figure as long as one euro costs less than $3.00, and lower than Bright Data’s $1.50 as long as one euro costs less than $2.00. Bright Data’s monthly Scale plans start at $499 for 383,000 requests, about $1.30 per 1,000.
What does “successful” mean in these prices?
Every competitor in the table says it charges only for successful requests, but each defines success in its own documentation. According to ScrapingBee’s FAQ, it bills responses with a 200, 404 or 410 status code. Zenrows counts 404 and 410 as successful results. Zyte API treats a target’s 404 as a successful response. Bright Data bills every request, failed ones included, once its Custom Headers & Cookies feature is enabled on a zone. ScrapeUnblocker bills delivered pages and a target’s own 404, 410 or 5xx error page, but not a 403 block, a timeout or a 429 rate limit. If many of your URLs return errors, these rules move your real cost per good page.
Where does Oxylabs Web Unblocker fit in this comparison?
Oxylabs Web Unblocker does not fit a per-request table, because its pricing page charges per GB of traffic: $9.40 per GB on the Micro plan ($75 for 8 GB) down to $7.50 per GB on Advanced ($660 for 88 GB).
